Maya Baxter
Maya Baxter graduated from UNC Wilmington in 2013 with a BA in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology. During her time in undergrad she competed on the UNCW track and field program which helped drive her passion for exercise and fitness. Upon graduation she obtained her personal training certification through the American Council of Exercise and started her training career at a local gym. In the spring of 2014, Maya joined our coaching staff as an assistant track and field coach, assisting in the strength and conditioning of boys soccer, volleyball, and basketball programs. Coach Maya also obtained her Master’s Degree in Sport Management in 2018 through the University of Florida. In 2020, Maya joined the teaching staff to be full time as head of the physical education department and Intro to Weight Training classes to focus fully on her passion in sports and athletics. Maya attends her dad’s church, Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
