Melissa Matthews

Melissa Matthews comes to Coastal from Carmel Christian School located in Matthews, NC where she has been teaching Honors World History, Government, and Economics. She gradua ted from Campbell University and holds a Master’s degree in history from NC State University. She has been a high school teacher for over fifteen years and is passionate about teaching youth to be productive citizens. She has numerous experiences serving in short term missions in Europe, Africa and Asia. Mrs. Matthews has been a Southeast Asian Women’s Leadership Mentor, a National History Day Advisor, a Civil War Lecturer, and part of the Southern Historical Association. She and her family have relocated to Wilmington from Charlotte and are excited about getting settled in the Wilmington community.
