Susan King-Lanier: American Sign Language

Susan King-Lanier is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College (now University) where she earned a B.A. in Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She taught Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in GA, HI, and NC for several years, and then left the public school system to teach her children in a homeschool setting spanning 24 years. In addition, she taught Deaf Studies courses at UNCWilmington from 1999-2015. She is a nationally certified ASL interpreter, and licensed in NC to practice. Her work as a community interpreter covers a wide range of settings and situations. In 2016 she completed her M.S. in ASL/English Interpreting from University of North Florida. Her greatest earthly treasure is in her 4 children, 3 sons-in-love, 1 daughter-in-love, and 6 grandchildren. She attends Life Community Church.
